About The Opportunity This role will provide marketing communications support in a variety of areas, with a primary focus on social media and a secondary focus on general Marketing Communications. This candidate exhibits strong interest in communication and social media, content development, writing, project management, and the ability to work both independently on projects and collaborate across teams. The candidate should be motivated to set and achieve goals and take the initiative to work within the team and across the enterprise on tasks and projects. A continuous improvement approach to projects is important.
The Social Media Intern will be responsible for assisting the Marketing Communications team with projects starting in fall of 2024 and ending in summer of 2025.
Areas of Learning/Responsibilities - Social Media
- Content planning and development
- Content tracking and data reporting
- Coordinating paid advertising on social platforms
- Competitive tracking report
- Support and execution of annual social media strategy
- General Marketing Communications
- Content development support for corporate news and updates, internal announcements, with the potential to work on external communications
- Presentation support
- Digital support (website, asset library)
- Support at video and photo shoots
- Trade show and event support
- Miscellaneous departmental team support as needed
Qualifications - Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or other related degree
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite preferred but not required)
- Ability to strategize, develop, and support marketing initiatives
- Experience with social media platforms (ie: Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn)
- Basic understanding of marketing principles and best practices
- Ability to work independently on projects, manage tasks and projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively
