Job Details
The objective of the Environmental Engineer is to ensure that equipment and plant practices conform to corporate environmental policy and federal, state and local regulations in a cost-effective manner to reduce or eliminate environmental impacts. The incumbent will be accountable for coordinating and auditing plant systems that ensure compliance with applicable air, water, wastewater, waste and chemical requirements while providing guidance and support to plant personnel that perform the day-to-day performance of permit activities within their respective departments. The primary program focus of this position will be water and/or waste management programs. Additionally, the Environmental Engineer will assist his/her supervisor with the development strategies and plans for Tennessee Operations.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering or other relevant field from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering or other relevant field from an accredited institution.
2+ years of related experience.
Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
Broad knowledge of local, state, federal programs and regulations relating to environmental
Previous experience in acquisition of permits and interaction with regulators.
Proficient in environmental data management systems.
Experience with lean manufacturing techniques.
Ability to effectively work with cross functional teams.
Ability to lead and drive cultural change in a positive manner, influencing others on new concepts
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple and diverse work assignments with minimal direction.
