Position Summary: The Pensacola Ice Flyers are seeking a
Social Media Intern for the full 2024-25 Season. This student intern will work, grow, and support the Ice Flyers Creative Media department and will be supervised by the Director, Marketing and Operations. During this internship, this intern will be able to harness their skills, learn how to effectively execute them in a professional environment, and gain significant practical experience and professional development/mentorship.
Timeline and hours: September - April (Potential Post Season)
15 - 20 hrs per week in office + gamedays
Key Areas of Responsibility: - Assist the Creative Content team on game days with social media, content creation, and content sharing;
- Maintain and update social media channels for all Ice Flyers games: pre-game, during the game, and post-game;
- Support Corporate Partnerships team by developing and capturing content for partner fulfillment;
- Monitor and engage with fans across all Ice Flyers social channels in real time;
- Contribute and brainstorm new ideas for social, digital, and broadcast content;
- Assist with creating game notes and game recaps;
- Assist in game day set-up and strike of the arena;
- Attend community engagement events;
- Research and create new fan experiences;
- Contribute to the overall strategies and planning of the team for theme nights, revenue generators, in-game production and entertainment, and community outreach;
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Essential Functions - Highly-motivated, outgoing self-starter with strategic thinking skills;
- Positive attitude and desire to be successful while having fun within a professional and team-oriented environment;
- Demonstrate critical thinking and high attention to detail in a goal-oriented environment;
- Knowledge of sports and in-game entertainment are definite assets;
- A high level of professionalism, confidence, enthusiasm, and personal accountability;
- Work well in a team environment and ability to collaborate with others while also working non-traditional hours;
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills along with professional written and verbal communication skills;
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage and prioritize daily efforts;
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign;
- Demonstrates design principles and creative trends with an online creative portfolio;
- Coachable and eager to learn;
- Reliable transportation is essential.
