The Ragon Institute seek a highly motivated Scientific Writer, who will join a dynamic organization at the forefront of immunology to assist in the coordination, writing, and editing of grant applications and scientific articles. The successful candidate must be able to process complex information and communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner. They should be capable of delivering high-quality work while maintaining specific timelines and meeting deadlines.

The position offers an exceptional opportunity for scientific growth with access to cutting-edge facilities and a terrific work environment. The successful candidate will work closely with PIs at the Ragon Institute and beyond.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drafts, edits, and formats original scientific content for multi-PI grant applications.
  • Develops writing timelines and organizes documents across multiple labs and institutions.
  • Assists in the editing and formatting of scientific articles.
  • Coordinates with labs to generate figures for grant applications.
  • Collaborates with the Ragon grant department to ensure all components of applications are produced in accordance with institutional requirements and internal deadlines.


Qualifications:

Minimum Degree and Field of Knowledge: Life Sciences MSc required; PhD preferred

Experience: 2+ years of science writing and editing experience

Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. in immunology or related field; Ph.D preferred
  • Ability to understand complex concepts and present them clearly and logically.
  • Experience with writing or editing NIH grants is highly desirable.
  • Established track record of original research publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, and citation managers such as EndNote, Mendeley, and Zotero.
  • Should be able to handle multiple projects and deadlines with equanimity
