Job Description
Purpose/Scope A Revit Drafter will produce precast product elevations; a design set for the engineer, an approval set for the customer, and a final set for the field to use along with production drawings, steel drawings, and miscellaneous drawings for the plant and vendors use.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Perform the tasks below for low to medium complexity projects with minimal assistance:
- With a Computer Aided Drafting System (CAD), layout precast units to correlate with plans, specifications, addendum, and the bid package
- Recommend efficient and cost saving panel layouts to the related parties
- Communicate with external contacts (Architects, Engineers, General Contractors, Steel Vendors, Outsource Companies, and their related positions), as well as internal contacts as needed
- Document any changes or concerns and forward to the job team
- Carry out all other related tasks to reach the goals of the drafting group
- Input ideas to streamline processes
- Help create and improve standards
- Mentor Drafter I and perform peer reviews for technical accuracy
Basic Qualifications - A two (2) year technical college degree related to the construction industry, specific to drafting required, or equivalent
- 5+ Years relevant experience required
- Revit experience
Other Required Qualifications - Able to read and understand blueprints, customer sketches, and specifications
- Proficient in AutoCAD or equivalent
- Ability to correspond well with others and the flexibility to change tasks midstream
- Some discretion and independent judgement may be required
- We versed with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all internal and external contacts
- Ability to work more than a 40-hour work week when required
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Precast Wall construction
Physical Requirements - Move 25lbs (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made).
- Work with a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines
- Ability to work in a team setting, as well as an individual setting
Work Environment - Remote/Office: Quiet with some ambient noise, climate controlled, fluorescent lighting
- Occasional travel to field sites or other plants
- Plant/Field: All types of weather conditions (year-round), dirt/dust, noise/vibrations from heavy machinery/vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways
