Job Description

Duties

  • Operates main units, 230kv switchyard, and station service boards which involves starting, stopping and control of two 170,000hp /105,000kw generator/pump units, auxiliary equipment and water release equipment. Operation may be by manual, automatic or computer control means.
  • Receives generation, pumping, and water release schedules and effects changes. Receives clearance requests and executes placement. Performs operation inspections of plant, switchyard and other related facilities.
  • Monitors service board meters and data reporting systems. Records and analyzes data and compiles standardized reports. Responds to trouble alarms; takes action necessary to protect equipment and facilities.
  • Works independently and exercises good judgment in conjunction with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Designers Operating Criteria (DOC), written switching and clearance orders, and own knowledge and experience in effecting safe and proper operation.
  • Acts as a communication coordinator for mobile units, remote sites and other project facilities. In emergency situations directs activities of both operation and maintenance personnel.

Qualifications

How You Will Be Evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

Category rating and selection procedures will be used to evaluate applications from this announcement.
