OVERVIEW Cache County is looking for a
Policy Analyst to support our County Council. The
Policy Analyst will perform various complex analytical and advanced administrative duties as needed to support the day-to-day operations of the County Council. The
Policy Analyst generally works Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and may occasionally be required to work a flexible shift to accommodate an evening meeting or event. The
Policy Analyst is a full-time benefitted position.

RESPONSIBILITIES Policy Analyst duties include working with internal staff, elected officials, and representatives of other agencies to research, gather, organize, analyze, write, and verify information; develop oral and written presentations and reports; recommend proposed policy or legislation options. The
Policy Analyst will perform research projects as requested to analyze public policy and legislation proposals; conduct investigations and analytical studies; compile reports, manuals, and publications on various projects and activities; may attend meetings of Council, boards, committees, and commissions.
The
Policy Analyst , will also work closely with Council and partner agencies to resolve problems, study policy needs, and recommend policy changes. The
Policy Analyst may perform accounting and records management duties, assist with monitoring the Council budget by tracking expenditures and purchasing office supplies and equipment, and perform administrative tasks such as monitoring the calendar by setting meetings and appointments for the Council and making travel arrangements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Policy Analyst ($25.75-$29.36): Bachelor's Degree in business, public administration, political science, or a related field AND progressively responsible experience in public policy and analysis, government or public relations, or a related field including experience in state or local government processes.
Senior Policy Analyst ($39.62-$45.17): A Master's Degree in business, public administration/policy, political science, or a related field is desired AND 5 years of progressively responsible experience in complex executive support, public policy analysis, and government or public relations including experience in state or local government processes.
The
Policy Analyst must also have a valid Utah Driver's License and a clean driving record with no DUIs or reckless driving offenses in the last five years and no more than two moving violations in the previous two years.
