We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Operations to lead our frozen food manufacturing plant. In this role, you will provide comprehensive leadership across all operational areas, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety while meeting customer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Direction: Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including Administration, Receiving, Production, Packaging, Maintenance, Warehousing, Shipping, Purchasing, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
Operational Efficiency: Direct plant activities to ensure timely processing of customer orders, scheduling, production, and shipping while minimizing costs and adhering to corporate quality standards.
Customer Service: Guarantee that customer orders are produced and shipped on time and in full, meeting corporate service target levels.
Continuous Improvement: Analyze operations to enhance competitiveness, implementing new processes and technologies as needed.
Cost Control: Manage expenses related to labor, raw material shrinkage, waste, and other indirect costs associated with plant operations.
KPI Development: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance safety, quality, and production efficiency, reducing costs of goods sold (COGS).
Budget Management: Develop and oversee the plant’s capital budget and ROI, leading ongoing capital projects.
Safety Program Management: Oversee the plant safety program, including training, compliance reporting, and recognition initiatives.
SQF Compliance: Support and review internal SQF audits, ensuring adherence to corporate, customer, and government standards while driving continuous improvement.
Food Security Management: Manage food security protocols, assessing and mitigating risks to raw materials, finished products, and plant resources.
Compliance Audits: Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with corporate, customer, and government regulations, continuously improving performance.
Staffing & Development: Maintain staffing levels and oversee performance evaluations, progressive discipline, and new hire onboarding and orientation.
Leadership Development: Mentor Production Managers, fostering their growth through training and educational opportunities, and preparing qualified candidates for succession planning.
Mission Support: Champion the Corporate Mission Statement, Vision, and Values to help achieve company goals.
