Job Description

The Physician Assistant is a mid-level provider who collaborates with the Interventional Radiologist to provide high quality, cost effective and individualized care for patients. The PA, if qualified by training and experience as determined by the supervising physician, may perform medical treatments, diagnostic procedures, or tasks as delegated by the supervising physician which fall within the normal scope of practice of the supervising physician.
Essential Job Duties:
1.Gathers, accurately documents and complete histories and physicals, determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeuticprocedures, interprets, and integrates data to determine patient plan, and monitors patient response to plan.

2.Assess and evaluate the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patient.

3.Participate in patient management, including prescriptive powers for acquisition of additional imaging procedures,therapeutic and diagnostic tests as required.

4.Administer and/or order intravenous medication and contrast media.

5.Demonstrate competency and perform procedures including, but not limited to the following:
•Fluoroscopic Procedures
•Ultrasound, Computed Tomography or Fluoroscopic guided biopsies
•Ultrasound, Computed Tomography or Fluoroscopic drainage catheter placements and chest insertions
•Vascular Access Procedures (i.e., arteriograms and venograms)
•Venous Access Procedures (i.e., AV- permacath placements; central venous line placement, IVC filter placement andremoval)
•Arthrograms
•Myelograms
•Gastrostomy, Nephrostomy, and Biliary tube insertions
•Epidural Blood Patch Injections
•Thoracentesis and Paracentesis with or without tube placement

Education
Master's Degree

Experience
Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant Program

Licenses & Certifications
*Healthcare Provider (CPR)
*Physician's Assistant

•Ability to prioritize tasks
•Ability to work additional hours beyond the core daytime hours when patient volume warrants
Possess the maturity, self-confidence, and ability to follow complex patient management plans in collaboration with Staff Interventionalist
