Position: Payroll Consultant (1099 Contract)

Bright Talent is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Consultant with experience using UKG to join our team.

As a Payroll Consultant, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of payroll processing for our clients and providing expert advice and guidance on payroll-related matters. We believe in providing our clients with the right solutions, at the right time - when they need it.

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including salaries, overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
• Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and tax laws to ensure compliance.
• Provide guidance and support to clients on payroll-related inquiries.
• Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate and timely employee onboarding, offboarding, and changes to employment status.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including tax filings, year-end reports, and W-2 forms.
• Assist with the implementation and optimization of payroll systems and software.
• Conduct audits of payroll procedures and recommend process improvements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Certification such as CCP (Certified Payroll Professional) or similar (preferred).
• 5+ years of hands-on payroll and tax
• In-depth knowledge of payroll procedures, regulations, and best practices.
• Extensive experience with in using UKG Software
• Strong understanding of tax laws and compliance requirements.
• Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Location: While many clients are based in Southern CA, location requirements may vary. Roles could be remote, hybrid, or onsite, depending on client needs.
