At BioSpectra, we lead in effectively supporting the top 25 pharmaceutical companies globally, setting the standard for success in our industry. We're now looking to build depth within our Human Resources team. This role will provide direct support for our manufacturing, supply chain, and operations departments and will offer the right person an opportunity of shaping the future of HR at BioSpectra! In the next few months, we will also be looking for more senior HR professional who can ultimately assume the HR leadership role for BioSpectra in anticipation of the current HR Director reducing his overall presence in the next twelve to eighteen months.

Job Summary:  The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing performance management, human resources policies, non-exempt compensation, training and employee retention programs. This position will also be responsible to work with assigned department managers regarding recruiting, talent development and organizational effectiveness.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Performance Review Program Training & Coaching 

  • Expected Result: Lead BioSpectra’s performance management program by ensuring that all managers are effectively trained, have the appropriate performance tools and perform appropriate performance feedback. Oversees quality of job descriptions to ensure they provide clear communication regarding employee performance expectations. Manages the online performance review program.

• Employee Engagement, Turnover Reduction Program 

  • Expected Result: Lead BioSpectra’s employee engagement and employee turnover reduction program by conducting turnover analysis, employee engagement surveys and working with managers to drive actions that improve employee engagement, satisfaction and reduce employee turnover. 

• Employee Selection & Employment Offers 

  • Expected Result: Support talent acquisition efforts by providing guidance regarding the selection and employment offers to candidates.

• HR Policy Management, Administration, Corrective Action & Investigations 

  • Expected Result: Leads and develops BioSpectra’s HR compliance, corrective action & respectful workplace programs. This includes the development and communication of policies, oversight of absence management activities and conducting investigations as appropriate.

• Absence Management Program 

  • Expected Result: Manage the Absence Management Program by monitoring company-wide employee absenteeism, coaching managers and employees, implementing corrective action solutions and absence reporting as required.

• Compensation Administration 

  • Expected Result: Administer BioSpectra’s compensation program for non-exempt employees in all non-administrative departments. Support BioSpectra’s annual compensation and rewards program.

• Employee Development & Training 

  • Expected Result: Supports HR Director with BioSpectra’ s management and employee development programs. Employee development includes new employee on-boarding as well as co-development of BioSpectra’s employee essentials training. Management development includes delivering training as needed on such topics as performance reviews, interview skills, performance coaching, dealing with conflict, planning & executing, and building effective teams.

• HR Business Partner Support 

  • Expected Result: Provide consulting and guidance to managers regarding compensation, performance issues, corrective actions, and candidate selection.

Qualification: • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or commensurate experience. • Minimum of five or more years of human resource management experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting with a working knowledge of employment law, compensation, employee relations, and performance management. • The ideal candidate will have the following experience or attributes: 

  • Effective working knowledge of cGMP practices and experience in chemical/materials manufacturing;
  • Highly accountable, self-motivated, and works autonomously with the ability to be decisive and develop/implement creative solutions to challenging issues;
  • Effective leader who can communicate and connect with leaders and employees at all levels of the organization;
  • Effective at thinking critically and make effective decisions;
  • effective at planning and managing their time;
  • Trustworthy in handling confidential information;
  • HR certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP;

Work Hours: 

  • Exempt Position.
  • Minimum of 40-45 Hours Week, or other agreed upon documented schedule.
  • This position requires occasional travel to and working from other BioSpectra facilities, as well as occasional off-shift work, as needed to provide HR support to off-shift staff.
