We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse or PA to join our Hematology/ Oncology team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate care to the patients, supporting them through their treatment journey.
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or PA, you will provide advanced nursing care in this specialty healthcare settings. You will assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining medical histories. NPs diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans. Collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals is strongly required in this practice settings.
Responsibilities:
* *Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:*
* Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including physical exams and medical history reviews.
* Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and conditions.
* Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and imaging.
* *Treatment Planning and Management:*
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and established protocols.
* Prescribe medications and other treatments as appropriate.
* Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient responses and outcomes.
* *Health Promotion and Education:*
* Provide education to patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention.
* Promote wellness through counseling on lifestyle modifications, diet, exercise, and preventive care.
* *Collaboration and Consultation:*
* Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
* Consult with specialists and refer patients to appropriate healthcare providers as needed.
* *Documentation and Record-Keeping:*
* Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Document patient assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes.
* *Quality Improvement and Compliance:*
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
* Adhere to legal and ethical standards of nursing practice and healthcare delivery.
* *Inpatient care: *
* NP is required to visit admitted patients at the hospital and monitor quality of care while the patients are at the hospital. (visit patients during their hospitalization daily to monitor their care and writ inpatient notes, no inpatient working hours required).
Requirements:
* *Education:* Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (NP program).
* *Certification:* Current California Nurse Practitioner certification.
* *Licensure:* Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license and NP certification.
* *Experience:* Relevant clinical experience preferred.
* *Skills:* Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
* *Environment:* Work in physician office, and local hospitals.
* *Hours:* Part-time schedule with potential for full-time; some weekends and on-call hours may be assigned.
* *Physical Requirements:* Ability to stand, walk, and lift as necessary to perform patient care activities.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
