Gymnastics Manager & Coach
Galveston Gymnastics is seeking a General Manager and Coach to be a senior staff member overseeing many aspects of our facility. You will bring drive and enthusiasm to ensure we maintain a sustainable business and deliver an exceptional experience to all members.
We are the only fully equipped gymnastics gym in the area and cater to all age groups and levels from preschool through teen and plan to begin offering adult classes as well. We are interested in expanding and growing our offerings, through new programs and initiatives, to include more members of the community.
This a full time role, in line with the flexibility required by a sporting environment. The primary schedule will be
Monday – Friday
9:30am-12:30pm - admin & GM work
3:30pm-8:30pm - coaching
Weekend work during competition season, events & birthday parties.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive person who can build strong relationships with people both within our gym and the wider community. You will have experience in gymnastics coaching as well as administration and operations at a gymnastics club or in a similar environment. You will have an understanding of the needs of a growing business.
The GM will oversee all staff and report to the owner.

● Knowledge of business operations and administration
● HR experience a plus
● Familiarity and understanding of funding bodies, sponsorship grants including the application process, is ideal
● Experience with fundraising
● Experience with digital platforms and marketing
● Prior experience working closely with a voluntary board or committee and possibly other governance experience
● Commitment to continuous improvement and development of all programs, staff and members
● Great with children and can handle groups in a busy gym environment
● In depth experience with gymnastics. Coaching experience with recreation programs at a basic level is required.
● USAG coach certification and ability to work with all level athletes is preferred
● Must be able to legally work in the United States
Job Description:
General Manager Roles
● Create yearly calendar, term/holiday timetables, camps, and training rotation schedules
● Manage staff - recruit/vet/hire/train. Hold termly individual reviews and team meetings.
● Organize in house coach training.
● Oversee training and support for junior staff and highschool coaches program.
● Create and implement all marketing assets and initiatives - emails/Facebook/flyers/etc.
● Manage website with routine updates and news.
● Oversee maintenance of gym - equipment needs/cleaning schedule and supplies, organize repairs.
● Assist with gym correspondence. Handle member inquiries and issues. Support Admin staff member with all necessary emails.
● Create and distribute monthly newsletter to members.
● Oversee maintenance of all gymnast registrations and information in USAG
● Oversee preparation and planning of all classes including maintenance of recreational and competition class lists. Oversee admin’s recording and managing of wait lists for all classes.
● Develop sponsorship program, onboard sponsors, fulfill agreement requirements
● Take and fulfill merchandise orders. Follow up payments, deliver items to members.
● Manage all in house events – annual registration event, open houses, team events, trainings, in house fundraising
● Coordinate all gym rentals and special programs - holiday programs, Christmas show, birthday parties, facility rentals
● Manage competition registration. Send announcements, collect fees and registrations, organize travel and accommodation for coaches.
● Manage club paperwork and assets in an organized manner. Record all gym data.
● Update reports for weekly staff meetings.
● Update and share Athlete and Staff Handbooks for competition team and coaches.
● Support all coaches and act as point of contact for parents. Contact parents on behalf of Galveston Gymnastics.
Coach Roles
● Prepare and plan classes. Create programming calendars and content for programs.
● Develop new programs – ninja warrior, adult classes, etc.
● Provide and teach classes to recreation gymnasts, ranging in age from 3 years to adult.
● Providing specialized instruction in gymnastics for beginner to advanced levels, to gymnasts ranging in age, and coaching of competitive teams. Teaching of compulsory routines and skills along with voluntary components and choreography.
● Demonstrate gymnastics techniques as required by level, including full physical movement when possible.
● Provide coaching support during competitions.
● Provide private coaching sessions as needed.
● Oversee and implement behavior control and class management.
● Enforce Health and Safety policies
● Manage reviews and progressions program for rec classes and comp team
● Regular communication with peer coaching staff to ensure there is adequate coverage to meet class coach/athlete ratios and that service expectations are being met.
Compensation
$42,000 - $52,000
