Position Overview:
As a Franchise Business Consultant (FBC), you will play a key role in supporting our retail franchise store owners. Your main responsibilities include fostering strong communication, providing exceptional guest service training, ensuring compliance with system standards, and offering guidance through phone, virtual meetings, and in-person visits. This important position focuses on achieving business objectives, including sales and profitability goals, through education, partnership, and collaboration. You will excel at building relationships that foster an exceptional service culture and inspire our signature guest experience in all our stores.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Model Execution: Develop and implement a clear and consistent execution of the company's business model to ensure success across all franchise locations.
- Financial Analysis: Review and analyze financial reports, including P&L statements and balance sheets, to identify trends and coaching opportunities, as well as investment returns and profitability insights.
- Growth Initiatives: Support franchisees in their growth initiatives and unit economics by analyzing financial information and recommending pricing and product mix strategies.
- Building Partnerships: Establish rapport and build partnerships based on collaboration and trust, ensuring compliance while generating buy-in among franchise owners.
- Guest Service Leadership: Provide strong leadership in guest service and team development, motivating franchise teams to create and share a remarkable guest experience.
- Local Store Marketing Guidance: Offer guidance on local store marketing efforts, special events, and establishing community partnerships, while promoting awareness of industry trends and customer behaviors.
- Merchandising Support: Assist franchisees in implementing effective merchandising strategies that align with company best practices and sales initiatives.
- Regular Communication: Conduct regular check-ins and calls with assigned franchisees, maintaining consistent support and guidance.
- Site Visits and Evaluations: Travel regularly for site visits and annual evaluations (approximately 70% travel expected), ensuring you provide hands-on support.
- Performance Documentation: Document historical performance for assigned franchise locations using established reporting systems.
- Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from franchisees to improve training materials, policies, and documentation.
- Compliance Oversight: Promote and manage compliance with operating standards and procedures throughout the franchise network.
- Project Management: Stay informed about interdepartmental projects and resources to assist franchisees effectively.
- Other Duties: Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Communications, or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of consulting experience in multi-unit specialty retail (franchise experience preferred, not including QSR).
- Previous experience in district or area management is a plus.
- Proficiency in analyzing P&L statements and balance sheets, as well as costs and profitability.
- Familiarity with POS systems and retail management systems, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and focused on providing exceptional customer service.
- Strong persuasive skills with a results-driven mindset to foster growth and retention.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with a tendency to incorporate humor into interactions.
- Team building and project management capabilities.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- A flair for quoting movies and lyrics in casual conversations.
- Ability to analyze situations, identify improvements, and coach franchise owners effectively.
- Proximity to a major international airport for efficient travel.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and move about for extended periods of time (10-12 hours) when onsite.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 30 lbs.
- Comfort working around spices and aromas (no scent sensitivities).
- Flexibility to work varied hours on-site, including weekends as necessary.
