Summary Under general supervision, plans, manages, organizes and executes events for the Laramie County Events Department at facilities including the Event Center at Archer, Archer Motorsports Park, Archer Rodeo Arenas, and the Laramie County Fairgrounds. Prepares event estimates and layout diagrams, coordinating equipment distribution and staging and setting up rooms per client request.

- Ensure compliance with facility rules, county regulations and policies.
- Coordinate event needs with building staff during large events (County Fair, trade shows, athletic events, concerts, etc.)
- Meet with contracted clients prior to events and assist in determining event needs
- Attend client meetings, help plan, organize and execute event details
- Serve as a venue representative at designated events by enforcing facility policies and procedures throughout the duration of the event
- Identify and resolve event problems and public complaints.
- Schedule related applicable staff, provide information and instructions to support staff including audio/visual, set-up, custodial, food & beverage, and security details
- Prepare room drawings, layouts, instructions, set-up requirements and pertinent documentation for each event and distribute to support staff
- Meet with clients to work through changes; ensure compliance with applicable fire, building and safety codes
- Monitor event schedules and ensure equipment is setup and operational as scheduled or needed
- Work on building events in event software system making sure all information is accurate and gets disseminated to other team members
- Supervise and assist with set-up/tear-down work crews for events
- Schedule work crews in coordination with the Operations Manager
- Responsible for unlocking buildings scheduled for use during non-business hours and locking buildings & gates after function is concluded
- Ensure all facilities are clean and operable after use during non-operating hours
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications Knowledge and Skills: - Knowledge of County organization, goals, objectives, policies, procedures.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of information systems, technology management and systems integration in a government environment.
- Knowledge of operational characteristics, services, and activities of a comprehensive multi-events facility.
- Knowledge of organization and management practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of multi-events facility programs, policies and operational needs.
- Knowledge of modern and complex principles and practices of multi-events facility program development and administration.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, procedures, and practices utilized in multi-events facility maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of recent developments, current literature and sources of information regarding multi-events facilities.
- Knowledge of advanced principles and practices of budget preparation and administration.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
- Knowledge of organizational and management practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of assigned department.
- Knowledge of pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations.
- Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods, and equipment.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures of record keeping and reporting.
- Knowledge of principles of contract administration.
- Knowledge of crowd management.
- Knowledge of advanced negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of facility management & operation.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of working safely.
- Ability to operate modern office equipment.
- Ability to work a variety of hours based upon the needs of the different clients and events that will include evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work near livestock and farm animals.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
- Ability to provide administrative and professional leadership and direction for staff.
- Ability to develop, implement and administer goals, objectives, and procedures for providing effective and efficient Event services.
- Ability to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the work of personnel; delegate authority and responsibility. Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff.
- Ability to identify and respond to community, board, County Commissioners' issues, concerns and needs.
- Ability to prepare and administer complex budgets; allocate resources in a cost effective manner.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals.
- Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate new service delivery methods, procedures and techniques.
- Ability to oversee and prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports.
- Ability interpret and apply Federal, State, and local policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
- Ability to move various items including equipment, stage, seating as needed within the Events Center and other County facilities.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Event Management, or a related field; two years of experience in event facility operations or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Preferred CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
