We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing company. This role is instrumental in leading and managing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all financial matters. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in accounting and finance, with a proven leadership abilities. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, including balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Coordinate and complete annual audits.
- Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
- Meet financial accounting objectives.
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, coordination of systems and procedures, and preparation of operating data and special reports as required, including interim and year-end financial statements.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff to develop their skills and ensure their growth and advancement within the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting for small to midsize business.
- Management experience preferred.
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to direct and supervise.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- Knowledge of financial reporting and data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
