Our Interview Process:

At Palmetto Renovations of Columbia, Inc. we believe in finding the best talent and ensuring they're the right fit for our team. Our comprehensive interview process is designed to not only evaluate your skills and experience but also give you a taste of what it's like to work with us. Here's a breakdown of our process:

1. In-Person Interview with Assistant Operations Director: You'll have the opportunity to meet with our Assistant Operations Director to further discuss the position, your qualifications, and how you align with our company values.

2. Background Check and Drug Test: To ensure the safety and security of our team and clients, we conduct a thorough background check and drug test as part of our hiring process. This process typically takes 1.0-1.5 week(s).

3. Final Interview with Company Officers: If you pass the background check and drug test you will meet with the two officers of Palmetto Renovations of Columbia, Inc. to discuss job expectations and compensation at which time they will inform you if you will move forward to the orientation internship. You will also negotiate your starting wage based on the salary range posted online and your experience for your 90-day probationary period.

4. Orientation Intern to Full-Time Hire: The first 2-3 days are set aside as "Orientation" to get a good working knowledge of the company, its background and your role within the company as well as completing challenge-based-learning videos and quizzes that involve lessons on industry wide professionalism. This orientation process is paid at a rate of $12.50/hour. Once outside of your internship, your full-time salary will take effect for the duration of your probationary period.

Position Overview

The Renderings Specialist plays an integral role in the material retail and design process of our renovations, assisting with design consultation and demonstrating selections via photorealistic 3D renderings of exterior elevations, interior spaces, digital staging, floor plans, and amenity concepts. They create detailed drawings and blueprints, considering aesthetics, functionality, safety regulations, and building codes, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure structural feasibility. Serving as a key assistant to the Design Manager , Interior Design Specialist(s) and Fulfillment Manager, the Renderings Specialist ensures that designs meet client needs and enhance the overall environment throughout the material selection and project specification process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Pre-Finishes Consultation Operations

  • Audits Initial Design Questionnaire, Sales Renovations contract, and Final Sales Rendering; verifies the consistency of details between all three documents to better assist the Design Manager in compiling preferred client selections and optimizing project layout.
  • Perform analysis of the as-built structure rendering and compare it to the pre and post Design Consultation Rendering to determine measurement and layout accuracy and identify any deficiencies. Report any deficiencies or discrepancies to the Sales Department for their review and correction prior to moving forward with the design process.
  • Assist Design Manager with the preparation of the Finishes Consultation Package to include but not limited to finishes research and tear sheet documentation creation, consultation presentation creation, finish calculator creation and adjustments as needed, project estimate creation and customer/vendor communication and coordination.

Finishes Consultation Operations

  • Facilitate rendering adjustments during Fulfillment Finish Consultations with potential customers.
  • Compilation of finalized finish selections and creation of Final Fulfillment Rendering with custom imported selections.
  • Perform duties of Interior Design Specialist in their absence during finishes consultation to include but not limited to presenting finish options to the customer, adjusting approach based on customer feedback, revising finishes calculator and creating and distributing estimates for customer approval.

Specifications Sheet Creation

  • Creation of 3D computer aid design drawings, which could include floor plans, elevations, sections, details, perspective drawings, and renderings.
  • Creation of a comprehensive set of drawings designed specifically to assist personnel in the field with layout and direction for the installation of client finishes.
  • Import custom materials, bonus catalogs, and additional items as needed in order to create as close a representation as possible of the potential project.

Department Operations

  • Maintaining entries in Monday.com, BuilderTrend.com, and digital cloud-based storage locations to facilitate providing information to clients.
  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited the below duties of serving as an cross-departmental Renderings Specialist for the Sales Department.
    • Using the information obtained from the Project Specialist after their Initial Contact Appointments (Pictures, Initial Contact Checklist, Before Rendering, Design Questionnaire, etc), to create a 3D rendering of the existing space and/or potential project.
    • Auditing information obtained from the Project Specialist to ensure measurements and information is accurate.
    • Update and develop resources to improve the design process (Design Questionnaire, Initial Consultation Checklist, Design Presentation, etc)
    • Research of all primary functions of the Chief Architect and any design-related software utilized by Palmetto Renovations of Columbia, Inc. and installation and maintenance of updates as needed.
    • Import custom materials, bonus catalogs, and additional items as needed in order to create as close a representation as possible of the potential project.
    • Create customized Design Presentations for Design Consultations.

Training, Education and Licensure

  • High school diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in programs of similar size and scope
